On Thursday 11^th July 2024, Backup’s ‘The Village Fete’ returns to glorious Sandown Park in Surrey for more fun and frivolity!

This is the live events industry’s best day out! So, dig out your best tweed and flowery dresses, dust off your cake recipes and purchase your tickets for The Village Fete 2024…

We’re building on the success of last year’s fete by adding more fete stalls, a ‘Veg Off’ to complement our very successful ‘Bake Off’, bringing back the Lions Barbers Collective, The Straw Stage for live music and workshops, Peasant Shooting with laser clay shooting, our brilliant Food and Craft Fest stalls and, of course, Vinnie and his ice creams.

Adding to the esteemed Parish judging panel this year, Martin Fullard (ex-Conference News editor) has been enlisted to provide a corporate approach to cake eating, and will be joining the judging panel alongside LSi’s Claire Beeson, TPi’s Stewart Hume, AAA’s Chris Barrett and PLASA’s Peter Heath. 

The Backup village Council also wanted to offer something different for companies wanting to attend, but not wanting to take part in the karting. To this end, the Manor House has been created as another way to join the fun. ‘Pre-built’ gazebos, fully furnished and with their own VIP bar, will be ready for them to walk straight into, enjoy the day and, hopefully, the sunshine. Sited at the track finishing line and close to all facilities, The Manor House will be sold on a first come first served basis. 

Of course, there will also be the much loved, adrenalin-fuelled karting competition, including the now famous 5 Star Cases Flight Case Relay. A rush for places is anticipated, and entries are once again restricted to one kart per team, so early booking is recommended.

Tickets will go on sale in two phases –

• 09:00 AM on Monday 25th March for Backup’s Partners
• 09:00 AM on Wednesday 27th March for General Sale

Hospitality Packages and Day Pass –

For 2024 we have 3x Hospitality Packages and the usual individual Day Pass ticket:

Kart Team Package – Each team may enter up to 6x drivers for the three-hour endurance race. Entry into our 5 Star Cases ‘Flight Case Relay’ and a Village Fete Stall.

The Manor House Package – The Manor house offers pre-built gazebos with seating in its own sectioned off area, with views over the racetrack finishing line and centre to all the activities. Each VIP Gazebo purchase comes with 6x VIP tickets that gives you access to the Manor House members VIP bar.

Fete Stall Package – A Fete Stall is 4m x 4m space to install and run your own fete stall and company base. Each stall spot purchase comes with 6 x stall holder tickets.

Individual Day Pass Ticket – The Day Pass Ticket gives you access to roam and enjoy all the fun of our Village Fete! 

What’s included in your hospitality package and day pass ticket: 

• Lunch and soft drinks (the latter throughout the day) from our amazing Food-Fest partners and an ice cream from Vinnie’s Ice Cream van! 
• Access to all onsite activities and fete stall games, excluding karting (purchased separately see below).
• Option to enter the following Village Fete competitions; ‘Bake Off’ / ‘Veg Off’ / Peasant Shooting (laser clay shooting) / Roadie Challenge.
• Automatic entry into our ‘Best Dressed Villager’ competition for those who come dressed to impress on the day, in an outfit that exemplifies Village Fete or Village and countryside theme.
